Direct Care Model

To provide you with in-depth mental health assessments, personalized care, and flexibility in treatment duration and the number of sessions, we strongly advocate for the Direct Care Model. This approach allows us to schedule your appointments in a timely manner and dedicate ample time for each session, ensuring you receive the care you deserve without feeling rushed. We maintain full transparency about costs, so there are no surprises that could add to your stress. Additionally, we can provide superbills upon request for medication management that your insurance may reimburse for a portion of the expenses. This billing code typically includes the service or appointment code.

This model enables us to:

- Offer extended consultations

- Deliver holistic care and lifestyle modification-focused treatments

- Foster stronger patient-physician relationships

TYPES OF ASSESSMENTS:

1. Initial Psychiatric Assessment or Evaluation or Second Opinion/Consultation - The first meeting with the psychiatrist typically involves long, in-depth mental health assessments that can last 1-2 hours. Dr. Verma aims to thoroughly understand the developmental and environmental influences on an individual, along with their biological predispositions. Child and adolescent assessments require information from both parents and the youth.

2. Follow-ups/Subsequent medication visits/pharmacotherapy visits.

3. Psychotherapy services and pharmacotherapy combined visits.

4. A re-evaluation (60 mins) is needed when a patient has not been seen within 5 months of their last appointment.

5. Any correspondence or service not listed above (including but not limited to phone calls, completing forms, obtaining collateral information, etc.) that takes more than 5 minutes will be billed at $600/hr.

6. Cancellations made within 24 hours or 1 business day of the appointment and no-shows will incur a charge at the appointment rate.

7. We do not issue letters approving Emotional Support Animals.

8. Termination of care: Both the patient and physician can terminate care if necessary. The office will manage this in accordance with Medical Board of California guidelines.

PAYMENTS:

Payments are required before the appointment and can be made through the debit or credit card on file; however, credit card transactions will incur an additional processing fee of 3%. We can provide superbills upon request for medication management that your insurance might reimburse. If other documents need to be released, we require an appropriate Release of Information (ROI). Administrative processing charges of $25, along with a nominal fee per page, will be billed to the person or organization requesting records.
